Metal forming machines that stamp and form door panels, trunk lids, and structural components use compressed air to turn simple sheets of metal into critical vehicle components. Robots using a combination of rivets and welding, factory workers using fastening tools are also dependent on compressed air to assemble vehicle components to produce the unpainted body of the car. After the vehicle assembling, cleaning and painting need dry oil-free compressed air as well.
