Activated Carbon Tower
ULTRAK activated carbon towers separate oil vapours and hydrocarbons from compressed air by adsorption (dry separation). They are made of steel, with internal flow distributors for even air passage through the carbon bed, and they are part of ULTRAOX ST oxygen plants.
The activated carbon bed removes oil vapours to < 0.003 mg/m³ (nominal). Oil quality class 0/1 to ISO 8573-1 (compressed air: contaminants and purity classes).
Internal flow distributors ensure even air passage through the bed of activated carbon.
An oil-mist indicator signals when service is needed.
Requires an upstream coalescing filter and a downstream 1 µm dust filter, to intercept any residue from the activated carbon.
