What's the difference between preventive and corrective maintenance?
Preventive maintenance is scheduled: filter changes, calibrations, sensor checks, and tightness tests performed before components fail, extending equipment lifespan and keeping operating costs predictable. Corrective maintenance is reactive: when something breaks, we restore function. Most UltraCare customers combine both: an annual preventive contract plus corrective cover for the unexpected.
Do you service equipment that wasn't manufactured by Ultra Controlo?
Yes. We're factory-certified for the partner brands we distribute: Gardner Denver, Elmo Rietschle, Thomas, Speck Pumpen, Speck Triplex, and RIX Industries. We also regularly service mixed installations where only part of the pipeline is Ultra Controlo. Tell us what's in the plant room and we'll come back with a coverage plan.
What's your emergency response time internationally?
We commit to remote diagnosis within 4 hours and boots-on-the-ground within 72 hours for international sites. In practice, most interventions in Western Europe happen within 24 to 48 hours. For critical hospital installations, we can pre-position a replacement unit alongside the original equipment as part of the contract.
Are genuine spare parts really necessary?
For medical gas systems, yes. Generic parts may fit mechanically but can fail pressure, purity, or biocompatibility certifications required by ISO 13485 and your local medical device regulators. Using non-genuine parts also voids warranty and can expose hospitals to liability if an audit reveals non-compliant components in life-critical systems.
Can we rent replacement equipment while you service ours?
Yes. We keep a rental fleet of oxygen generators, medical air compressors, vacuum pumps, and dryers for situations where downtime isn't acceptable. Rental units ship pre-configured with documentation matching your existing setup, so your biomedical team can swap them in with minimal disruption.
What's included in the 6-month service warranty?
Every UltraCare intervention (preventive, corrective, or spare-parts replacement) is covered for six months on parts and labour, with no deductible. If the same fault recurs within the warranty period, we return and fix it at no cost. Parts not supplied by us aren't covered by this warranty but remain covered by the original manufacturer's terms.
How do I set up a preventive maintenance contract?
Send us an inventory of your Ultra Controlo equipment (or a site visit date for us to compile it) and we'll return a proposal with annual visit frequency, scope, and fixed cost. Most contracts run one or three years with annual renewal. Multi-site healthcare groups usually consolidate into a single master contract with site-specific schedules.
