Ultra Controlo has officially inaugurated the ULTRAOX medical gas system at Hospital de Benguela, marking a defining moment in one of Angola's most consequential hospital infrastructure projects to date. The initiative is developed by the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Angola and financed by the Global Fund, with a national scope that extends to up to 8 hospitals across the country.

At the centre of the installation is the ULTRAOX PSA oxygen generator. It takes ambient air and turns it into 95% O2 purity medical-grade oxygen, on-site, in real time, without interruption. The system runs on an oil-free compressor, monitors CO, CO2, H2O, and gas parameters continuously, and operates in fully automatic mode with failsafe redundancy built in. It reduces annual oxygen costs by up to 70% compared to bottled or cryogenic supply and eliminates the fragility of cylinder-based logistics entirely. Certified under ISO 13485:2016 and compliant with European and American Pharmacopeia standards, the ULTRAOX is not a workaround. It is the standard.

Ultra Controlo has inaugurated the ULTRAOX medical gas system at Hospital de Benguela, Angola, under a national project financed by the Global Fund and developed by the United Nations Development Programme for the Ministry of Health of Angola, covering the complete supply and installation of PSA oxygen generation, medical air, and vacuum infrastructure across up to 8 hospitals nationwide.

Hospital de Benguela now has a complete medical gas infrastructure. Not just oxygen.

Ultra Controlo supplied and installed three fully integrated systems: the ULTRAOX PSA oxygen generator, a medical air production unit, and a medical vacuum system. The medical air system delivers clean, dry, filtered compressed air across surgical environments, respiratory therapy units, and intensive care departments. The medical vacuum system manages suction across operating theatres, emergency units, and post-surgical areas, regulating vacuum levels with precision at every point of use.

Beyond the core systems, the project includes full pipeline infrastructure: medical-grade copper tubing, gas outlets, alarm and monitoring panels, flowmeters, pressure regulators, and isolation valves. Every connection. Every clinical area. Everything the hospital needs, integrated and ready to serve. The result is an autonomous medical gas network that places permanent control of a critical resource in the hands of the people who depend on it most.

Benguela is the beginning, not the destination. The project covers up to 8 hospitals across Angola. Each installation brings the same complete infrastructure: autonomous oxygen generation, medical air, vacuum systems, and pipeline distribution built to last for decades. Through Ultra Controlo's UltraGreen Plan, each ULTRAOX system is also aligned with a sustainability framework designed to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 130 tons per installation annually. Long-term performance and long-term responsibility, built into the same system.

Ultra Controlo was selected as the technology and implementation partner by the UNDP, bringing to Angola 45 years of industry expertise and a presence across more than 80 countries. The company has recently deployed ULTRAOX systems in Mali, Cabo Verde, Timor-Leste, Eswatini, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and serves as a trusted consultant to Ministries of Health and international development organisations worldwide. All systems are manufactured and tested at Ultra Controlo's own factories in Sintra, Portugal, certified under ISO 13485:2016, and supported by UltraCare, a 24/7 technical assistance programme that runs 365 days a year.

2026 is Ultra Controlo's year to shape the future of healthcare. Angola is part of that future. The inauguration at Hospital de Benguela and the national rollout that follows represent exactly what this company was built for: durable, high-performance infrastructure that transforms a hospital's capacity to save lives. Every ULTRAOX system activated. Every pipeline connected. Every clinical area served. This is not a project. It is a commitment. And it is only just beginning.
